I have another Cuban photography exhibition running in London at Bridewell Theatre just off Fleet Street. Also, due to popular demand, my Cuba Libre exhibition at Canning House on London's Belgrave Square has been extended by a month to 31 July.

Cuba Vida, my new exhibition in conjunction with ArTELIER, consists of my ten most popular photographs commemorating 50 years since the Cuban Revolution. It takes place at the Bridewell Theatre bar just off Fleet Street from 10th July to 15th August 2009.

My larger Cuba Libre exhibition at Canning House on Belgrave Square has also been extended due to popular demand until the end of July. So there are now two opportunities to see my photographic portrayals of Cuban life.

In 2009 I travelled around Cuba photographing the island in order to capture the spirit of the place 50 years after its revolution. I discovered that Cuba is much more than a land of cigars and classic cars. It’s a place of crumbling colonial buildings, of music coming from houses, plazas, cafes and bars; of men playing dominoes on porches and children playing baseball in the streets with plastic bottle caps and sticks of wood.

I wanted to convey Cuba as a land of educated, patriotic people full of warmth, vitality and pride. They are people living under extraordinary circumstances following the American embargo, who are getting by in spite of food, water and electricity shortages, and who are able to express their zest for life through their music, friendliness and general good humour.

Both exhibitions are free. Cuba Libre at Canning House is accessible from 2-6pm Monday to Friday whereas Cuba Vida at Bridewell Theatre can be viewed Tuesday to Friday from 12.30 to 2.30pm and 6.30 to 11pm, and also on Saturdays from 6.30 to 11pm. So between the two venue’s Eleanor’s Cuban photographs can be viewed any day of the week from lunch-time onwards.

Both galleries are located in central London. Bridewell Theatre is located at Bride Lane Fleet Street London EC4Y 8EQ and Canning House is at 2 Belgrave Square, London SW1X 8PJ
